Bulk Foods Recipe: Bin #1732 - WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (Bulk Bin #1721)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (Bulk Bin #1460)
- 1 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour (Bulk Bin #1732)
- 1 1/2 cups White Flour (Bulk Bin #1734)
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Recipe Instructions:In a large bowl add the first 6 ingredients and then add the yeast and stir.
Next, add both the whole wheat and white flour to the mix; knead until smooth, about ten minutes.
Place the dough in an olive oiled bowl turning it once so that the top of the dough is also oiled. Then cover the top with a clean damp towel and let rise is a warm place until doubled in size, usually about 45 minutes.
Punch the dough down and knead it for about two minutes. Fold the dough into the form of a loaf and lay in the bottom of a lightly olive oiled bread pan. Cover again with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 to 40 minutes or until the dough rise over the top of the bread pan.
Preheat oven to 350°F
Bake for 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Remove from oven and while bread is still warm, lightly butter the top.
